I've been out of it for a while but I think that El meant the lofty ones in the singular and El.ohim was the plural.
It does mention the goddess of Ashtoreth and plenty of others by name, Baal etc. Can't remember them all. I used to enjoy reading the bible years ago and not turning it into a religion. It felt much cleaner to do so because I didn't want to follow man's interpretation. I love my manufacturer and I am lucky we still communicate every day through my conscience.
