I will tell you how I have explained it.
There are a few key points to start with, which for the 'teller', you need to come armed with a few new articles from before 2016.
Example. The McCain/Qatar pipeline connection which always gets thrown around recently.
There is a Guardian article 2013 that states, 'Qatar' wants a pipeline. (Use their sources not ours) and then encourage research.

This leads to other articles that show the pipeline proposed maps.
Its easier to make a leap from their own sources and encourage do the research. I have also highlighted that our own scandals in the past all are the same playbook. I always get an eye raise on that.
