US Marines Launch Search and Rescue Effort After Two Planes Crash Near Japan

The US Marine Corps initiated a search and rescue operation near Japan early Thursday morning local time following an accident involving an F/A-18 that was conducting an aerial refuel from a KC-130. Both aircraft crashed into the sea, according to reports. ABC News reports that one crew member has been rescued alive by Japanese forces.

An F/A-18 fighter aircraft attempting to replenish its fuel supply crashed with two servicemembers aboard during the refueling accident. The C-130 tanker, carrying five individuals, crashed as well, CBS reported, citing the US Marines.

"Search and rescue operations continue for US Marine Corps aircraft that were involved in a mishap off of the coast of Japan around 2:00 a.m. Dec. 6," the Marines said in a statement.

The pair of aircraft had taken off from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni and were involved in "regularly scheduled training when the mishap occurred," according to the service branch.

Japanese aircraft and personnel are involved in the search and rescue operation as well.

Trade Truce Over? Canada Arrests Huawei CFO At US Request

Mere hours after Chinese officials finally affirmed President Trump's description of Saturday's trade 'truce' - this after fears that the true nature of the agreement might have been "lost in translation" helped trigger the worst one-day market selloff since October - the DOJ has gone ahead and kicked the hornet's nest, seriously jeopardizing the prospects for a prolonged trade detente between the world's two biggest economies.

20-Year-Old Chinese Man Arrested for Taking Pictures of Navy Base in Florida

A 20-year-old Chinese national faces jail time after taking photographs of a U.S. Navy base in Florida.

Zhao Qianli was arrested on Sept. 26, for trespassing on restricted Navy property in Key West, prosecutors revealed this week.

Zhao told officers he was lost and that he was “a dishwasher from New Jersey.”

But prosecutors believe he obtained sensitive information, citing a number of photographs he had taken.

The Chinese national faces federal charges of photographing defense installations and entering military, naval, or Coast Guard property, reported the Miami Herald.

Zhao is being held on a $250,000 bond and faces up to 18 months in jail if convicted of both charges.

The criminal complaint says that witnesses saw Zhao walking along a fence separating Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and the Naval Air Station Key West before walking around the fence and entering the facility from the beach.

There’s no gate blocking access at the beach but the fence has signs that say “Restricted Area.”

“The fence line Zhao Qianli circumvented had numerous warnings that noted the fenced facility was a ‘military installation’ and ‘Restricted Area’ warning signs posted on the beach,” the complaint stated.

Zhao then spent several minutes taking pictures with a cell phone and a digital camera. After he was confronted, officials found out he was in the country on an expired visa.

Bill Requiring Colleges to Provide Abortion Pills to Students Reintroduced in California After Being Vetoed

A bill mandating college health centers provide abortion pills to students has been reintroduced in the California Senate after being vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown.

Brown previously struck down the bill in September.

The bill, The “College Student Right to Access Act,” or SB 24, was reintroduced on Monday by Democratic State Senator Connie Leyva. Following the midterms, there is a new governor-elect and a Democratic supermajority — so she hopes to now be able to push it through.

Leyva wrote in a statement that the bill “will ensure access to medication abortion services on California public university campuses for students who seek to terminate their pregnancy during the first ten weeks.”

The bill “will require that public universities with on-campus student health centers provide medication abortion on campus by January 1, 2023.”

“It is critically important that we reaffirm the constitutional right of college students to access abortion care without delay, and that should always include student health centers on public university campuses. Regardless of where they may live, all Californians should have access to the full range and choices of reproductive care services so that they can plan their futures and accomplish their goals. I am confident that the incoming Legislature will also approve SB 24 and that Governor-Elect Gavin Newsom will continue to stand strong in his support for a woman’s right to choose,” the statement continued.

According to a report from the Epoch Times, “the bill would require $10.3 million in private funding to provide a $200,000 grant to all public university health centers to pay for the cost of ‘medication abortion readiness.’ An extra $200,000 would go to the University of California and California State University for 24-hour telephone support for students who obtain the abortion medication.”

SIGN! UK petition against UN Migration Pact is 107,000 strong and growing!

The petition demanding that the UK government REJECT the United Nations Global Migration Compact has already surpassed the Parliamentary requirement for debate.

SIGN IT HERE

The petition went from 10,000 signatures 11 days ago to passing the 100,000 mark today. Leave.eu among others have been promoting the petition.

As of yet, there has been no response from the government, which falls in line with their previous record of signing such things without the consent of the British public (Lisbon and Maastricht for example).

The list of countries refusing to sign the compact is growing amidst global public opposition to the proposed ideology that all migration is a human right, therefore removing the possibility of any being ‘illegal’. It also makes any criticism of migration as criminally punishable ‘hate speech’.

The pact is expected to be signed at the UN Intergovernmental Conference in Marrakech, Morocco beginning on 10 December 2018.
