In a previous notables, you asked for Christians to explain why POTUS and FLOTUS did not recite the Apostles Creed. Here's my guess on his reasoning.

While the Apolstle's Creed may be common within Catholic and Episcopalian churches, it is rarely recited in the evangelical churches. Versions vary within different churches, but pieces of it appear in most churches. Some recite it every Sunday, others just use it for special ceremonies, such as baptisms, or as a pledge when joining a church.

Most of text is just an executive summary of the Bible. You could dispute a word or two, depending on your church's beliefs (visiting the dead instead of visiting hell), but there is really not much in it to offend a Christian.

Only one topic jumps off the page at me. The oath pledges that "I believe in the Catholic Church". What if POTUS is a man with Christian beliefs, but knows bad things about the leadership of the Catholic Church (Pope, pedophile rings, etc.) Wouldn't POTUS feel that it was hypocrisy to pledge a "belief" or "alliance" with those whom he considered to be criminals?
