GOP Senators Introduce “WALL Act” — Request $25 Billion for Trump Border Wall

On Thursday several GOP Senators introduced the “Wall Act” to fund President Trump’s border wall with Mexico.

Senator’s Ted Cruz, John Kennedy, James Inhofe and Mike Rounds introduced the new law that will pay for itself.

The GOP senators say they can fund the bill by cutting off benefits to illegal immigrants in the US.

The Hill reported:

Republican senators have introduced legislation to fully fund President Trump’s request of $25 billion for the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

“The WALL Act would fully fund the border wall by closing existing loopholes that provide illegal immigrants with federal benefits and tax credits, without affecting the benefits and tax credits used by Americans,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said in a statement on Thursday.

To pay for the border wall, the Republicans propose to crack down on benefits for undocumented immigrants, including requiring that parents have a Social Security number to claim refundable tax credits, requiring any welfare applicants to prove they are a citizen and increasing minimum fines on individuals who cross the border illegally or overstay visas.

“If you want to receive food stamps and other benefits, then you should prove your citizenship. If you cross the border illegally or overstay your visit to this country, then you should pay a stiff penalty,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) added.

In addition to Kennedy and Cruz, the bill was introduced by Sens. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Mike Rounds (R-S.D.).

Hospital refuses to treat children who haven't been vaccinated

A major pediatric hospital in the US is refusing to treat children who have not been vaccinated or haven't followed the proper schedule.

The Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St Petersburg, Florida has given parents a 90-day notice to get their children fully vaccinated or find a different hospital. The hospital says it won't recognise the usual religious exemptions, even though it's an exclusion that is permitted under Florida state law.

In a note to parents, the hospital's medical director, Rachel Dawkins, says it won't accept any new patients who aren't vaccinated, and existing patients who have not been vaccinated, or not completed the schedule, must comply within 90 days.

"Our practice believes that vaccinating children and young adults is a crucial step to promoting healthy lives and futures," she wrote in a letter dated November 1st.

"Unvaccinated children are at higher risk for becoming ill with a host of preventable diseases that can have serious and sometimes devastating consequences. In addition, unvaccinated children can potentially spread a preventable disease to another child who may be too young to be vaccinated or who is immune compromised."

She says the vaccines have been "thoroughly tested" for their safety and effectiveness.

The ban hasn't been universally welcomed, even among doctors. One, Dr Robert J Rowen in California, describes the notice as "the next phase of the systematic destruction of your healthcare rights emanating from the vaccine industry."

DNC Chair Tom Perez Complains That Voters Influenced By Church

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Tom Perez on Wednesday complained that voters are influenced by what they hear in church on Sundays.

Perez claimed that Republicans have an advantage because “people buy” what they hear at church.

“And we all have to make sure that we’re fluent in what’s happening across our ecosystem so we can come to each other’s defense because we need to build a bigger orchestra. They’ve had a big orchestra for some time and they’ve got the megaphones to amplify it, whether it’s Sinclair at the local level or Fox at the national level,” Perez said at an event for Demand Justice, a left-wing political group.

“I’ve learned this from the outreach we’ve done at the DNC. Why aren’t we penetrating, I ask? And I had someone in northwest Wisconsin tell me: ‘You know what? For most of the people I know, their principle sources of information are Fox News, the NRA newsletter and the pulpit on Sunday.’ And it should come as a surprise to no-one that our message doesn’t penetrate,” Perez continued.

“It should come as a surprise to no-one that that person has elevated the issue of courts to the top because that person on the pulpit is saying ‘ignore everything else that this person has done and is doing, we have to focus on one issue of Roe vs. Wade.’ And people buy it. Because that’s their only source,” Perez asserted.
