All really great questions anons, if you like archaeology and the ancient writings at all.

Not only were all humans related, but there were only about 8 writing tribes in Mesopotamia where all of your world history courses begin.

Sumerians were one of the tribes of Mesopotamia.

Hebrews were another, and the only tribe that is still intact to this day, including their language. So they both lived through the same very real history.

To answer the Enoch questions though:

1) Yes the bible recognizes Enoch as a true prophet. Additionally so did Jesus when he chastised the religious leaders about how they would know that angels do not marry if they read the "scriptures". Matt 22: 29-30 In fact there are a good number of ancient scrolls that are mentioned in the bible that we do not have at all.

Note: I dont see these as "cannon" but since God mentions them, I would more call them God's "recommended commentaries". The other two that are mentioned often in the bible, we happen to have.. are the book of Jasher, and the book of Jubilees [pic related] Keep in mind that many Christians are scared of these ancient text. They forget about, or never read the book of Daniel, where Daniel is told to "Close the book of prophecy until the end times". This means that new understanding of the bible is to come but not until the end times. We should be looking for it, but, always skeptically.

2)Figuring out that Jesus was talking about the book of Enoch requires a bit of digging. Observation 2 is that there is no "scripture" in the bible that says any such thing about angels marrying, other than the one place where Jesus is telling them to read the "scriptures" about it. So what scripture could he be talking about??

Then, you realize after thousands of years that there is only ONE Hebrew writing that addresses it throughout all time, and this is the book of Enoch. So, Jesus was telling them to "know the book of Enoch". Jesus calls the book of Enoch a scripture, and recommends that it is read. Matt 22: 29-30

>Why did the catholic church take book of enoch out of the bible?

I have only studied the Enoch thing about 7-8 years, but there are a few theories on that.

1) By the time 300 years went by and Rome told the Christians they could come out of the catacombs, and to bring all their writings to the Council of Nicea, from all over the empire, they had too few copies of the book, or the copies did not match letter for letter which is required to pass the historicity test and get into the bible.

Only copies that matched from around the whole empire were allowed into the bible. They figured if the copies had gotten corrupted over the 300 years, God did not want them there because he did not preserve them. Besides, how would you know which one was the real scroll to include if they were different? It was a good way to settle the argument. Everything in the bible had multiple copies that were identical from all over Rome. All others that were not identical were excluded.

2) Some suspect the book of Enoch was left out because the Romans were the new "public officials" and if you ever looked at the bible, it does not have very nice things to say about "romans" so, interpretations were changed to fit the politics of the day.

3) Some posit that some of the scrolls like Enoch were left out because back then and by then, no one believed in such fantastical stories? If you read Enoch, it fills out the Genesis 6 story from the point of view of the fallen angels, Enoch, God, and the negotiation process between God and the fallen angels.

The book of Jasher [pic related] tells the same story, but this one tells the story from the point of view of men who were having their wives stolen from them, and who were watching biotechnology experiments being conducted on everything from their fellow man to animals. "The mixing of animals" they called it. I do not think these people knew what they were looking at, but we would today. We call it biotechnology. [pic related 2] Today we are trying to grow human parts to replace parts that are lost and damaged.

Yeah.

Yikes.

It is one hell of a plan and I am so relieved for it. Can you imagine if they had to do the "unthinkable".

How did we get blessed with such a great military? It has to be God himself who led them through this. God bless them all.
