I think parallel construction applies also to this..the Genesis and Exodus are the story of ONE people…created by ENIL and deposited post cataclysm specifically to destroy the people of Enki..Genesis / Exodus also makes it clear there were "others" already here when they popped up (who did Cain marry eh?)
