I used to hate the Old Testament. Similar reasons. Now I almost love it better than the New Testament because in the OT the character of God (& us in His image is revealed - with brutal, raw, primal truth in the scheme of the great experiment of free will and who we might choose: Him or the fallen ones). God dared to show us His character… and those he loved… for example: David, a man after God's own heart.
Even then all the OT figures in history had their human flaws.
Then, in the New Testament "the plan" is revealed. How God would flip all the meanings of sacrifice, by daring & daring to accept His own son making the ultimate sacrifice to redeem us - so that love between Creator & Created could be saved.
Some of my fave OT stories are when God was preparing to destroy a people, and a faithful one stepped in and destroyed the defilers in the camp as an act of loyal faith. God relented.
W/the snowflake mentality that has been thrown at us like sticks of dynamite for so long, it is hard to imagine a loyalty where it is righteous to destroy evil & in doing incur the FAVOR of God, instead of His wrath…. Until now.
Thank you to all fighting the fight of the mind, physically, &/or spiritually - all warfare is warfare. We fight united and strong against true evil.
