After world war II, the first place for outsourcing was Japan, with imports appearing in the mid 50's and product re-badges (IE Allied by Pioneer and Lafayette by Kenwood) began to appear in the mid sixties alongside the usual Japanese names.

 

Then Korea and eventually Taiwan, early 80's to late 90's, and then China from Mid to late 90's on.

 

It's interesting to watch the shift of manufacturing bases over time.
