Update on the situation at 1.30 pm (Paris time)
• Nearly 700 people were arrested in France, including 575 in Paris on Saturday morning . Of these, 272 were taken into custody.
• The police have carried out numerous checks , confiscating diving goggles, physiological saline and protective helmets.
• A decrease in mobilization . In total, there were 31,000 demonstrators in France at midday, against 36,000 last week at the same time.
• A demonstration took place in the calm on the Champs-Élysées . Despite some hot shots, the situation remained relatively relaxed on the most beautiful avenue in the world, especially in view of previous events.
• The situation was more tense on the big boulevards in Paris where barricades were erected at midday.
