I know how anons feel about GHWB. He’s slime. But consider this. Q mentioned last January, in 2 posts, Amb Jack Matlock, that he would become public. I’m reading one of his books. He was amb to Russia and is an expert on foreign policy going back to the 50s. His writings delve into the many misconceptions about the fall of the USSR and how the US was a factor in all that. Great history of the Cold War, everything that developed going back to WW1.

Here’s the thing: Matlock had a very good, close working relationship with Reagan and GHWB. Those men both understood the complexities of our foreign policy on multiple levels.

Now, Q says to keep this man in mind. POTUS has more on his plate than these fools we’re all sitting around waiting to see hung. He’s trying to alter the entire world’s way of doing business. Matlock’s writings will bear that out. And they will also reflect GHWB’s approach, in some manner. I don’t know yet; still reading. But while we can dismiss Bush Sr on most fronts, we need to understand him better on issues relating to Russia.

Thanks. Now my reviewing of early posts will have to focus on RussiaRussiaRussia. Just what I wanted! Rather read Dosty for fun. I ain’t got the brains for this high-level stuff. I hope there are anons who do.

I keep concernfagging about the future and where we go from here. Most anons are only concentrating on what’s really already accomplished and just playing out.

Do WE want to build a new world, or just let a new group of elitists and their minions do it? We’ve got to get smarter. Thanks for replying.

Churches frequently place kleenex boxes in pews during funeral services. Here there are no pews, just chairs.

Some people do cry at these things.

We, being mere anons, tend to think in black and white. You're either for or against, white or black, on our side or the enemy's.

It's more than a matter of being perhaps grey hat. People fit roles for different purposes. Of course, GHWB was rotten. But that doesn't preclude his value in some aspects of his political career. Don't know how to put this plainly. We'd see that he was astute, knowledgeable and useful, even by our standards, if we really knew more about him. I'm not defending him.

But there is more to a politician than the surface stuff you either worship or disdain.
