German press is publishing more and more articles insinuating that the German army may be a threat to democracy, by being subverted by reactionary, right winged forces.
They seem to see the army as a potential threat to Merkels politics.

Imo: yes, that's the reason, like with Hussein's policy with weakening the army, to reduce possibility of resistance, when submitting the country to the rule of the UN.
