Frank Lowenstein, former special envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations, senior advisor to Secretary of State John Kerry and Staff Director for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has joined APCO Worldwide as the head of the firm’s growing Global Solutions Practice, announced Evan Kraus, global president and managing director of APCO’s Washington office. Prior to joining APCO, Lowenstein served as special envoy for Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations for the U.S. Department of State.

 

Robert Ardelt to Jointly Lead APCO Worldwides Global Crisis Management and Litigation Communications Practice

Managing director of APCO Worldwide in Germany, Robert Ardelt, will now jointly lead APCO Worldwides global crisis management and litigation communications practice, following his appointment. Ardelt, whos filled the managing director role at the independent global communication agency for over 7 years, will now co-lead the Washington, D.C.-based company's crisis and litigation communication practice. Ardelt will be the leader of a team of crisis and litigation consultants alongside executive director Kent Jarrell, who is based in Washington.

 

APCO Worldwide Names New Members to Board of Directors

APCO Worldwide has added two new members to its board of directors, according to APCO’s founder and executive chairman, Margery Kraus. Marcia Page, executive chair of Värde Partners, and Peter Milton Sommerhauser, founding partner at Wing Capital Group, have joined APCO founder and executive chairman Margery Kraus, CEO Brad Staples, and Joseph Zimmel, former managing director at Goldman, Sachs and Co., as members of the board.

Ms. Marcia Lynn Page serves as a Partner and Executive Chairman since 2016. Ms. Page has co-founded Värde Partners, Inc. in 1993. Prior to this, she served as Co-Chief Executive Officer since May 1994 and Co-Chief Investment Officer since 1993. Ms. Page is responsible for setting the firm's global investment strategy and managing it with the other managing partners and also firm’s growth, ranging from the development of the original investment thesis, to the raising of each fund, to the crafting of the firm’s investor communications, to the development of the firm’s infrastructure. She has invested billions of dollars in publicly traded securities and has been actively involved in reorganizing numerous small- to mid-size companies. Ms. Page served as a Vice President at EBF & Associates from 1990 to 1993. She had joined EBF & Associates in 1988. Prior to that, Ms. Page had joined Cargill, Inc. in 1983 as a Financial Analyst. She began managing high yield and other fixed income portfolios at Cargill Financial Services Corporation in 1985. Ms. Page served as Vice President at Cargill from 1985 to 1990. Throughout her career, she has specialized in corporate and special situation investing and oversees corporate investing in Europe. Ms. Page has been Chairperson of TriMont Real Estate Advisors, Inc. Since January 11, 2016 she served as a Director at APCO Worldwide, Inc. since July 27, 2017. Ms. Page has been a Director of FirstCity Financial Corp. since May 17, 2013. She served as a Director of Icg Inc. (Formerly International Coal Group Inc) since April 2005. Ms. Page serves on the Board of Trustees of Gustavus Adolphus College and on the Board of Overseers of the Carlson School of Management. Ms. Page earned an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1983 and a B.A. in Economics from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1982.
