He's right. They (led by McCabe) so badly botched the investigation (intentionally, IMO) that any competent lawyer could get the case tossed. Comey knew that then. I don't recall anyone ever asking him WHY he believes this way.

I'm not certain we'll ever know the truth. But IF he is acting, he, along with all the other people that are getting slimed by everyone need their public exonerations. I don't know how that will work. It's a big IF, however.
Undercover operatives tend to have that quality. It's how undercover works.
