Google upgraded its ‘Santa Tracker’ — here’s what you’ll find

SALT LAKE CITY — Google’s Santa Tracker received an upgrade this year.

What’s going on: Google released its annual Santa Tracker that allows you to track the jolly ol’ elf using Google Maps as he makes his journey around the world.

Google will work with the U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) for the tracker website.

This year, the tracker will come with an entire “village” of games and activities.

For example, there will be a new item called “Elf Maker,” where you can design a custom elf.

There’s also a “wrap battle” game, which is a lot like the “Dance Dance Revolution” video game.

You can also use the website to learn about translations and to learn code.

There’s also a part where you can write postcards to Santa.

Santa Tracker: Beginning Dec. 23, you can ask Google Assistant, “Google, where’s Santa?” You will then receive an update.

“One of the hardest parts about being married to Santa is that he always forgets to let me know where he is,” said Mrs. Claus, the vice president of product for Santa’s Village and Santa Tracker, in a Google blog post.

“This year, I’ve enlisted our elite team of cartographelves to let everyone know where he is as soon as he takes off from the North Pole. In the days leading up to Christmas, Santa will share his location with you on Google Maps so you can see his travels as he moves across the map. Follow along with him there or on our Santa Tracker dashboard on Dec. 24 so you don’t miss his visit.”

Mobile: You can also use the village on your mobile device (iOS and Android), as well as your Android app and Android TV app, according to Newsweek.

SHE'S EMBARRASSING HERSELF - AGAIN

Ocasio-Cortez Misquotes Constitution While Threatening To Run For President December 9, 2018

New York Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez misquoted the U.S. Constitution and threatened to run for president just to spite Republicans.

During a photo shoot at Harvard University as part of an event for Politico, Ocasio-Cortez falsely claimed that the Constitutional age restriction to run for president only applies to men.

In between the photo shoot, Politico notes that the photographer joked with Ocasio-Cortez about running for president in a few years.

“You can’t even run for president for another six years,” the photographer said, noting that she had just turned 29-years-old.

Ocasio-Cortez responded by falsely stating that the U.S. Constitution only places a presidential age limit on men, not women.

“No, not for a long time. Thank God,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Although we’ve been joking that because the Equal Rights Amendment hasn’t been passed yet, the Constitution technically says he cannot run unless he’s 35,” she falsely claimed.

She also threatened to run for president if Republicans don’t pass the Equal Rights Amendment.

“So what we’ll do is we’ll force the Republican Party to pass the Equal Rights Amendment by threatening to run for president,” she continued.

Article II Section I of the U.S. Constitution explicitly states “any person,” not “he,” as she claimed.

US Navy Sails up Right to Russia's Main Pacific Fleet Base in 'Freedom of Navigation' Provocation

It's as if Washington is trying to be as offensive as possible

Thu, Dec 6, 2018

An American destroyer sailed off the Russian coast, near the Pacific Fleet base in Vladivostok, in a first such stunt since the Cold War. Another US ship is expected in the Black Sea soon, amid tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

The USS MCCampbell (DDG-85) went into the vicinity of Peter the Great Bay to “challenge Russia's excessive maritime claims and uphold the rights, freedoms, and lawful uses of the sea” enjoyed by the US and others, Lieutenant Rachel McMarr, a spokesperson for the US Pacific Fleet, said in a statement.

These operations demonstrate the United States will fly, sail and operate wherever international law allows,” McMarr said. “That is true in the Sea of Japan, as in other places around the globe.”

Peter the Great Bay was named after the first emperor of Russia, and is dotted with bases of the Russian Pacific Fleet. The presence of a US destroyer in the area is comparable to a Russian sail-by of San Diego, California or Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Washington does not recognize Russia’s territorial claims in the Sea of Japan, with a Navy official telling CNN they far exceed the 12 nautical mile limit guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). While Russia has ratified the convention, the US has not.

That is not all, however. The US Navy could also be planning to send a warship into the Black Sea in the near future. CNN reported that the State Department has notified Turkey of the intent to send a warship through the Bosporus and the Dardanelles, which requires a 15-day notice under the terms of the 1936 Montreux Convention.

The 1936 treaty also limits the presence of ships from nations that don’t border the Black Sea to a maximum of 21 days. The US last had a ship in the area back in October.
