The tanks and officers who attacked protesters in France were not all French police. Some of them were EU armored vehicles with law enforcement folks from outside of France.

This is exactly what the proposed EU army is supposed to do—oppress the native Europeans if they ever rise up against the tyranny. Most people in France today are too young to remember France after the German invasion during WW2, but they're going to feel that pain all over again. .
