>Not really the same unless you broadcast your conversations to the world. Plus if the phone company told me they didn't like the conversations I was having on their network they wouldn't need to cancel my service.
Said another way, Americans have no first amendment right to broadcast a message, unless some private corporation agrees with the message. Private conversations between only two people are protected because the company would find no need to censor?
By this logic, one could not have group phone calls, which we do all of the time now, unless the phone company likes what we were talking about as a group. That would include group business meetings on the phone lines.
The post office has to stop delivering advertisement mail if they do not like what is being offered in the broadly sent ad mail. Same goes with the private UPS corporation.
Talk about encouraging criminal behavior.
This would be highly advantageous to the post office, or UPS, who could make deals with certain corporations to have a cut of the profits, by refusing to deliver for "competitors" of that business.
On it's face, the assertion is fascist, or totalitarian.
What the world "humans" are allowed to learn about, or create and widely share in the way of inventions or ideas is decided ONLY by those who are already in established information relay businesses, and by those business with established ideas or products already in the market place.
This was the reason for the first amendment.
Censorship of anyone for any reason, especially censorship in forms of broadcasting to many recipients……works to the detriment of the advancement of any civilization in history, or currently. It always precedes genocide.
We are having the same problem with patent law, which was designed for the PURPOSES of
1)assuring inventors were paid for inventions, and
2) assuring that companies could buy the patents to make certain the new ideas reached the market so that civilization benefits and advances by marketing great new ideas. Patent law has been turned on it's head, and predictably, murders come with censorship.
Globalist and the rich use their corporate money and the patent law to buy the patent to "shelve it" making certain that no one ever puts a new invention on the market.
Since about the 60's with the exception of the microwave, if the invention was of no use for spying on the population, it was pretty much shelved if it could benefit the average american. Just look around.
With the exception of spying computers, spying televisions, spying cell phones, and the microwave, in our homes today we are still living with 1950's technology.
if an inventor refuses to sell the patent to the rich and powerful, they are now murdered for refusing the "deal".

These days, people are afraid to invent things.
Just how far are you willing to go, to assure the "rights of private corporations" over the rights of living breathing people?
We need a "use it or lose it" patent law. The split second any inventor is found dead, we need to know what corporations were talking to that inventor. THEIR phone calls of THEIR board members need to be automatically made public by the NSA or similar agency. Corporations do not have constitutional rights under the original interpretation. In fact, back in the times of the founders, corporations required "state charters" that had to be re-applied for every 20 years or so. Any evil acting by the corporation over the previous 20 years, would mean denial of charter which = execution. No right to life. No "due process".
Too many corporations are getting away with sending out the corporate hired "jackals" to do a "hit job".
We also need to make sure that we can "crowd fund" good inventions together if the corporations shelve a patent after seven years.
If you do not bring the invention to the market, let the people crowd fund the invention.
These days, they just steal the invention, and "classify" their theft as a "matter of national security".
So, censorship of information and patent law by "private corporations" and our own government under the guise of "national security" are two of the biggest harms currently happening in our free civilization.
Point here is:
The first amendment is useless, if the government is allowed to seed corporations to do for them, what the first amendment forbids them to do to us by law. The first amendment is useless if the government actors are allowed to classify their criminal activity as "secret" while they murder speakers and inventors with impunity.
