Talking about Israel etc is like shill magnet. And it can be initially difficult to know if it's a shill if they really know their stuff (or at least know more than I do!) So I just don't get into those discussions. Doesn't matter that much at this point, that's not the focus right now. They'll be time in the future.
A really sly shill could do something–at least for awhile. But most of them aren't committed enough to do "serious" shilling–the kind you'd do if your life depended on it. So they give themselves away with little signs of cognitive dissonance.

Agree, I love Twain. And that is pretty much what we told the kids–that most of what they would learn they would read from books themselves. And it's true. The STEM program is teaching my granddaughter to build a birdhouse. It's like shop. Good for her to know, but it's the only class for half a year, nothing else. And she wants to be an MD. Boring and frustrating. For now.

It WAS posted, don't know if notable, there was some discussion about it, because everybody knows concrete is not concrete. I can't believe @jack is so Zen that he would post something like this to make an abstract point.
I see your point but am solution oriented. And the solution is to integrate thinking and feeling. For right wing thinkers, feeling function helps them be more sensitive. communicative, and able to "read" others' emotional states; for leftwing feelers, thinking function helps them be more objective, rational, etc.
Either function can be unbalanced, but when feeling is unbalanced, a person is more susceptible to emotional manipulation. And DS is great at that kind of thing.
I have strong thinking and feeling and am thus aware of how these can be integrated.
Too bad my sensate function sucks. Still in first grade figuring out how to integrate with intuition. Speaking of which, time to sleep (or at least pretend).
