If one went for an invasion, I hardly can imagine you'd be so stupid as to amass all tanks in any one place.
Serves no strategic or tactical goal related to invasion.
All could be anihilated with one lousy killshot.
The only purpose as I see it would be exactly for the imagery, which they are sure will be taken from it by any passing satellite, of which there are many these days.
This is politics, not warfare. One could maybe read in it a small amount of cockyness maybe.
A honeytrap: "dare kill my artillery and I'll drop you some hypersonic nukes dude"-kinda message.
