There is a Russian physicist named Evgeny Podkletnov, who has done some very interesting experiments on faster-than-light (superluminal) travel. In those experiments, he uses gravity waves to 'clear a path' through the quantum foam which (he says) allows light to achieve speeds much faster than "c".
