Anons, does anyone know if a government shutdown effectively halts the current session of congress? Are they considered essential employees? I'm digging for an answer, but wanted to ask the autists
I agree anon. I have been digging to find out if a government shutdown officially suspends the current session of congress.
Under Congressional Immunity Law (which I am reading as being based on Art 1, Sec 6, Clause 1 of US Consitution)
>1. A Congress member is exempted from arrest while attending a session of the body to which the member belongs, excluding an arrest for treason, breach of the peace, or a felony, or;
>2.A Congress member is exempted from arrest or interrogation for any speech or debate entered into during a legislative session.

If the shutdown suspends the current session, all bets are off and they can round of these traitors at will. Now it appears that legislators have "evidentiary privilege" and can not be compelled to testify. That said, Q has been telling us along that "We have everything", which can be inferred to mean that they do not need to testify because the collected evidence is so damning that those who claimed this privilege wouldn't need to testify.
