If you've not heard everyone is wearing the yellow vests because the French brought in a ridiculous law that every car in France has to have a kit with a yellow high viz jacket, spare bulbs, headlamp converters, a warning triangle, a country or origin sticker (if foreign) and your own breathalyzers. You need this stuff even if you go on a driving holiday through France or pop across the border to do your shopping. It's obviously a money making racket for one of Macron's friends who sells this shit and for the government who fine people if you leave your high viz jacket at home.

The situation in the UK is very different to MAGA in the US as anons in the UK do not control the executive. There are less than 100 MP's in Parliament who actually want to leave the EU. The vast majority would stay or even get closer to the EU if they could. Most are trying to get a soft Brexit. So, we still keep paying the EU and get nothing in return. It's like the mafia giving us an offer we can't refuse. However, the British people outside of London and the big cities will not let them get away with it in the long term. Strangely, it actually helps the cause if they deceptively get a soft Brexit through as it just highlights how out of touch the British political class is with the people and will help the 3rd party come to power whenever Farage et al launch it.
