happy grieving… hope it doesn't go too bad for ye.

surprised how happy i am for that confirmation (oh, and sadly, Jr too… ohwelll)

i'll admit: though i mostly left it alone, i was one of those anons hoping R was an op to tarnish the Jr issue, and that it was still possible… that chapter's ended, now…

>I can't ever bring myself to view an agency conducting mass surveillance as good, nor can I view the whistleblower that brought it to mainstream attention as evil.

i getcha.

what turned it for me was realizing that this very abuse is what saved us: some actual humans saw not only what we do but also what they are up to… without that what hope would we have had?

Snowden's a tricky one, for sure… mull it over, digest over time.

bad-good, black-white, those are based in reality but can be blinders to the shades between, and in any case far too simple to portray reality properly…

Snowden had to be a "hero" for the op to work. In many ways, he was, and likely still is, but the actual intent was nefarious. It's complex.

Was also completely antisurveillance state, but had a lot to rethink in the past year… and feel ever grateful to the wizards & warlocks, those who know… and took action.

words can't do it justice

just too much not lining up or making sense for that to still be the case, it seems. utterly blown away by the genius and guts if it would be, have to admit. but then it'd be so much more hopeless still, what's the difference? enjoying the extra time given before being disappeared, and pleasantly surprised with what they choose to do in the meantime
