>Effective 30 months after the date of enactment of this Actโ€”

>(1) the Secretary of the Treasury (in this Act referred to as the โ€œSecretaryโ€) shall define the dollar in terms of a fixed weight of gold, based on that dayโ€™s closing market price of gold; and

>(2) Federal Reserve Banks shall make Federal Reserve notes exchangeable with gold at the statutory gold definition of the dollar.

Note that coins aren't mentioned. Since they're coined directly by the treasury, it's possible that clad coins could exchange without being discounted.

(If this bill is the way POTUS plans to do it)

Not if you don't understand the market and premiums.

If you're going to jump in anyway, I'd recommend sticking with US mint eagles or buffaloes. Buffaloes have a higher premium, but hold it better. APMEX or Provident are usually the best places to buy.
