the school i went to had three grades in one class in the later years and two grades per class in the earlier years. so if you got bored with 6th grade work you could do 7th grade work without being separated into a special class , and vice versa 6th grade too tough, do 5th grade work. i was doing 7th grade work at the end of the 5th. There was no need to skip a grade or repeat.
