Maybe it is a habit of inclination. But I dare to reason that it is learned social behavior. Language which we use to name was only needed when we settled into sedentary agriculture. At that point we had to teach young ones to use this tool of communication to get along with others Cuz nobody was going anywhere. Before society, before language (let's say 14000bce or so) there is no reason to think inner dialogue occured within the parameters of language so no reason to think nomenclature is something primordial
