You should read some of the contracts people sign. I went with a friend who wanted to try out for "the Voice". The wording they used was troubling. It gave them permission to own and use your likeness (I'm pretty sure they had rights to anything you do as a human being there after) throughout "the known universe"… Fucked up right there. I can't remember the much of the exact wording of the contract, but that certainly stood out. Btw, that was just for trying out. Even if you didn't make it onto the show, they would technically own you forever.
