Sick of hearing and reading about the Clintons, Obama, Macron, Comey, Soros et al? Well, their story is very old, I'm afraid. Prototypes of compromise, crime, abuse of power and evil. Our own American history is filled with accounts in books detailing such types as a guide to understanding (then) current issues, as well as a warning to future generations. Science Fiction, becoming popular in the late 1800's, invariably included themes of some technological invention or advancement to fend off any number of threats. In such stories, the inventor genius protagonist hero (which is now a SciFi protagonist prototype called an Edisonade, after the wizard of his day, Thomas Edison) had to do battle against evil and compromise. That makes for an interesting historical backdrop to current times, where we're not just talking about the harnessing of electricity to produce light, but the means to control information and populations. Menlo Park has a long history filled with brilliance, scheming and compromise.
