These are 2 things the government has control over that can be a cash cow for unscrupulous policy makers. It should be illegal for any Congressman / Senator or immediate family to actively invest in any company that a lawmaker has control over. A patriotic lawmaker should concern themselves with policy for the good of the country and not personal gain. Money in politics is the number one cause of corruption. Look at all the politicians who have become millionaires since taking office. This anon has no doubt whatsoever that many political decisions are based on personal gains and many financial decisions were made on insider information. Term limits and financial transparency should be made into law. Representing constituents should be just that and not a financial career.

Had to look that up.Not necessarily. Local people in a fair election are savvy enough to elect a person who represents their ideas and morals. There just needs to be a check on the corruption. Think about this- The Dems coming into office are not going to represent the goodwill and needs of their constituents but rather spend their time and energy trying to discredit and impeach POTUS.
