Medical Researchers have no real incentive to find a cure – just treatment if they work for pharma.

Desperate people who are terminally ill will give everything they own to pay for cancer treatment

Medical researchers working for big pharma ((($$$))) are working themselves out of a job if they find an inexpensive cure for cancer.

If there was a law that if anyone who found a cure for cancer that would be affordable to everyone would receive One Billion Dollars then private investors would likely hire researchers to find a cure with the incentive of earning a Billion Dollars.

I understand that if someone found a cure they could potentially make a hell of a lot more but I am very confident that if such a grant or reward was offered that you would have a lot more folks world wide working 24/7 to find an affordable cure.

Cancer is literally costing tax payers trillions if we let this epidemic called cancer continue.

1 in 3 are said to get cancer at some point of their lives.

What is the average cost of cancer treatment?

Medical expenses paid by whom?

Medicare/Medicaid and other gov programs that cost taxpayers $$$ because of cancer?

Trillions!

Our country will go bankrupt from health insurance alone and taxpayer dollars paying huge hospital/chemo bills due to cancer.

I’ve lost 5 family members to cancer!

1 in 3 expected to get cancer at some point in their lives. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

I know it would pass through both houses. Just look at the cost of cancer!

One BILLION dollar reward for an affordable cure for cancer

Congress should pass law that would reward anyone who finds an affordable effective cure for cancer to receive $1Billion.

One of the main roles of Government as stated by the constitution is to:

“..promote the general welfare”

If 1 in 3 people are now expected to get cancer at some point of their lives (recent statistics – look it up) then congress should take drastic measures and do whatever they can to protect the public from cancer.

Healthcare costs will only continue to rise unless the elephant in the room is addressed.

Cancer is the most overall costly medical treatment that will bankrupt taxpayers if it continues.

By incentivizing a cure by grant reward, you will have private investors competing or collaborating with each other to get the grant reward and have cancer cure patent.

Make the bill effective for just five years and I give it just 6 months before cures for cancer start coming out of the woodwork!

If private investors seek out the best talent and find a cure then the $1Billion Grant reward would bankroll their cancer cure drug manufacturing etc which would make many many times more than the reward itself.

You have no idea how effective this would be.

Private money will surpass the reward amount across the multitude of researchers tasked with the same goal. They will work more aggressively and effectively because of the competition.

Cancer would be cured likely in 6 months or even multiple cures found!
