while it is true that 5G will replace a single cell tower with thousands of individual stations, what isn't mentioned is the relative power levels. A cell tower typically transmits with 40W per channel while the micro stations used on every lamp post in 5G typically transmit with less than 100mw. So even though the transmitter is closer the average power level a pedestrian will be exposed to is much smaller by a factor of 50 at least.

The best example of frequency specific harm is the common microwave oven. 1000 W of power at ~2.4 GHz (the resonant frequency of the water molecule) will do far more damage to human tissue than 1000 W of power at 5G frequencies.
We will face much more potential harm from 'Big Brother's' use of the ubiquitous surveillance and 'internet of everything' that 5G will bring
