Yeah the only relevant political “art” is the original graffiti - scrawling anti government slogans on walls. Which really isn’t even Art in the contemporary hedge-fund defined art world now. That was Before even graffiti got comped and became glorified name fagging and product placement a la hip hop.

I love much of the so-called degenerate art. Yet I also see how that was comped after post-Impressionism, German expressionism and Cubism and has led us to the absolute shit that contemporary art now is. Proven, documented Communist/CIA Infiltration to destroy culture. I work actively in the arts. The less an artist “cares” and the more he/she mocks any kind of sincerity in art, while also simultaneously parroting proven auction house stars, the more likely they are for success. The disconnect between art and general public is by design. It’s all just one giant money laundering circle jerk where the elites buy shit that reinforces their own globalist, culture fucking agendas

The only sincerity allowed in contemporary art is when you blatantly flaunt extreme leftist SJW shit. Then you can be as sincere as you want. Hate men, all whites are evil, heterosexuals are oppressive, open borders etc etc. ART got ass fucked by the CIA post WW2 as soon as they created the Abstract Expressionist hype. Then hyper capitalist pop art mocked those guys and half of them offer themselves. Since then Americans have worshipped products and celebrities and its gradually expanded around the globe.

No denying cubism. However, it also foreshadowed the “concept over content” quagmire that we currently find ourselves in. Where you need a 50k student loan and art education to be taught how to understand and make art for other people with the same education.

Anyone who doesn’t play the art school, concept game and jerk off others, gets labelled an “outsider”. Which essentially is a euphemism for “nutcase who will never be taken seriously and shown in a museum”.

Right. It’s an attempt to make the 3d into 2d and reference multiple viewing angles, form and the picture plane. It also showed what painting was capable of, as opposed to the boom of photography. Then Hockney made his photo collages decades later which flipped it back rather nicely.
