The Washington Symbolism revealed in a book I’m reading

“Greenleaf’s zeal for Pythagorean lore and its impact upon Masonry was nothing new; the Pythagorean Theorem was incorporated in the template of the District of Columbia of 1791 as developed and informed by George Washington, Benjamin Banneker, Pierre Charles L’Enfant, and Daniel Carroll - the subject matter of chapter fourteen. The Pythagorean Theorem or the 47 th  Proposition of Euclid can been seen in the Federal Triangle formed by the White House, the Washington Monument obelisk, and Capitol. Pennsylvania Avenue forms the hypotenuse of this.

Pythagorean Triangle; Pennsylvania is the  Keystone State  a direct reference to Royal Arch Masonic symbology. The Pythagorean Theorem is also the emblem of a Worshipful Master and represents Masonic rulership. The Masonic Federal District would come to incorporate other esoteric themes such as the hermetic maxim of  as above, so below  as inscribed on the Emerald Tablet of legendary Hellenistic deity Thoth Hermes Mercurius Trismegistus. This philosophy entails the alignment of buildings to celestial bodies in order to draw upon their divine spiritual energies; this is not conspiratorial as even the  Book of Enoch  contained an Astronomical Book.”
