You mean the one that was lost with the destruction of the temple in 70AD? Jews have no temple, they have no priesthood, and they offer no sacrifice for atonement for their sins. Rabbinic or Talmudic Judaism, that is modern Judaism, has little in common with the religion of the Hebrews.

You are right, there is no "the jews." They were lost with the destruction of the temple in 70AD. They no longer keep the Mosaic covenant. No temple. No priesthood. No sacrifice.
There are only those who call themselves jews, but are not jews.
