I agree that not all Freemasons are the same. But I don't thin it's deliberately designed as you describe.
Most people are basically good. so any group that does not overtly advertise themselves as evil will attract a group a people typical of the greater population.
But the start of Morals and Dogmas makes it clear that Feemasonery is Luciferian. The widespread suspicions of bad mojo are correct.
I suspect that it serves mainly as a recruiting pool for other groups. Their whole shtick is that the lodge is a place for people to go to discuss topics, without judgement, that may not be welcome in open society (of would not have been a century ago). Such places are the best in the world to float veiled Luciferian ideas and see who responds favorably.
The Russians (and Chinese, and Brits, etc) are more more monolithic than we are. There are some who will benefit from what Trump is doing, and some who will lose. And there are those who are just happy to see anything that hurts their long-time enemies.
