[happy dance intensifies]
Rly good to have another competent baker
on the bench.
>had no idea baking was so wildly frenetic
I know right? I've likened it to racecar driving b4. Fits how my dad used to describe it. He said the only time he ever felt calm was while he was racing, because it took 100% of his focus, leaving no room for any thought but the task at hand. And because the stakes were so high, that focus was exhilarating. I guess it's not the end of the world when we don't get a bread up on time (ebakers and BO/BV are always around to re-light the pilot light) but when you're up against that 751 trying to get the bake together, to pull in as many pieces as you can, it feels pretty high stakes. The work anons do here certainly is, they deserve the best from their bakers.
>I almost gave up there, and you kept me going.
I've been there, fren. My first try I didn't even get the bread up at all, and second time I spazzed out, looked at the wrong tab, thought it was nearing 751 and ended up baking at like 400. BO came over there and was like "you maybe baked a bit early there baker." He just deleted it and encouraged me to keep going. Anons were really supportive. So I'm not kidding when I say I'm only paying it forward.
You should know that this next bread might go another 3, maybe 4 hours. We have a pretty consistent graveyard baker that's baking a lot around this time tho, so you'll hopefully just have to
request handoff
and the call will be answered.
Usually the outgoing baker uses the report function (see pic) on the incoming baker's "Confirming handoff?" offer post to let BO/BV know there's a baker change habbening so they can screen for niggershillbakers.
And if for some reason you need to abandon the kitchen and there's no baker to relieve you, just announce
ghost handoff in effect
and include updated dough with any notes you've gathered and BO's post of AB's
ebake instructions

And then use the report function on the ghost handoff post to let BO/BV know the kitchen's unattended.
