I'm not the one "distorting" scripture, I'm reading it for exactly what it says. It's the people who are defending it who constantly need to twist the meaning of every word to make it come off looking good.

I have actually read the Bible. All of it, from page one to the end. And I have no need to "torture the text" to criticize it, it suffices to read exactly what it says. And it often makes no sense whatsoever.
Just a quick example:
Lot was a righteous man (2 Peter 2:7-8) who fucked his daughters (Genesis 19:32-36). But incest is wrong (Leviticus 18:6).
There's also plenty of "moral" commands that are kind of outdated these days, at least among civilized peoples. Like on how to treat your SLAVES.

Problem is, Christians keep bringing up the stupid shit that was applicable several thousand years ago any time they feel like it!
For instance, their strong opposition to homosexuality rests entirely on verses from the Old testament, right next to other verses that they think must be "interpreted" to modern standards.
