I've looked at 3 Penny Marshall articles, and I see comms.

I'm not going to speculate about what kind of person she was or what she may have done, but I feel like I know how to peruse these events (articles about) and determine if there's a subtext. Lots of comms. My opinion.

Make of it what you will. I pore over these kinds of articles looking for comms. I see tons with her… not going to bother describing 90% of it. The JFK thing just kind of jumped out.
