The mystery Court case just got more mysterious!
They were trying to quash a subpoena to testify in front of a Grand Jury.In laymen's terms: they used the excuse that they were a foreign entity and the Judge had no jurisdiction to compel them to testify. The argument failed because they were conducting business in USA ( also known as "The Long Arm Of The Law" Doctrine. If you do business here then you are subject to our laws.
This case required the secrecy/security of an entire floor shutdown in the Court.
I'm thinking about POTUS EO about seizure of funds from human trafficking right now.
The corporation used some civil law in their argument when this was a criminal case. That leads me to think of the EO which has similar powers as RICO and civil forfeiture in criminal conspiracy cases.
