I read something on one of the Flynn familes' walls at Twitter. I didn't save the citation. The jist though is that Pence was the liar and Flynn covered for Pence
I think it's simpler than people make out. They framed Flynn as part of their plot to frame POTUS. It was deliberate. They entrapped him at the White House, didn't read the Miranda Rights all that. Doctored the the 302.
The whole mess is taking so long to resolve because POTUS and the people behind him, are buying time to get ready for what they are going to do.
POTUS is deliberately letting it run on. It's a deception strategy.
They can't know what is coming. So it's a psychological tactic that's being run. Don't let them think anything is happening, is the strategy. And yeah, they are really stupid.
And most of them don't know.
