POTUS has his hands full with Turkey. The Flynn mess revolves around the general not filing a FARA registration while working with Erdogan government officials on the extradition of Gulen. Gulen, a "benevolent imam" living in exile in PA, is charged as the mastermind behind the 2016 coup attempt and Erdogan wants him. He has vowed to use any means necessary to revenge the putsch. Just recently a mystery gunman fired shots at the compound where Gulen is living, missing his target.
Erdogan lobbied POTUS to extradite Gulen during the G20 summit. The WH says there is not enough evidence to satisfy the requirements of the extradition treaty.
Now, today the US approved a possible $3.5B sale of Patriot missiles to Turkey.
Q says Flynn is a patriot who just so happened to be lobbying for Erdogan.
Whew - I'm confused.
