Last week: In another show of indifference to American sentiment, but

loyalty to the NRA, the Senate horrifically, but not surprisingly, voted down

common-sense gun control measures this week. Americans, overwhelmingly,

want legislative action. This is not a partisan issue. Newtown didn't make a

difference, Orlando has not made a difference, but special interests and

power in the gun-lobby has made a difference –but in the wrong direction.

All politics are local and now is the time for Floridians and all Americans to

leverage their voices locally, and demand their elected officials act in

accordance with the majority of their constituents. Change can happen, but it

takes passion –and the future is for the passionate.
