Shipping lanes… How do they work? How common is it for ships to collide at sea? How do advanced warships get rammed by tankers?
When was MH370?

>> AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) has confirmed that 20 of its employees were confirmed passengers on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Twelve are from Malaysia and eight are from China. The entire Freescale Semiconductor community is deeply saddened by this news. The company is continuing to monitor the situation and will provide more information as it becomes available.
What were so many Freescale Semiconductor employees doing on a single airplane?
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies
>> Nested on the servers’ motherboards, the testers found a tiny microchip, not much bigger than a grain of rice, that wasn’t part of the boards’ original design. Amazon reported the discovery to U.S. authorities, sending a shudder through the intelligence community. Elemental’s servers could be found in Department of Defense data centers, the CIA’s drone operations, and the onboard networks of Navy warships. And Elemental was just one of hundreds of Supermicro customers.
Is MH370 related? Possibly. Think bigger, though. Where are most chips manufactured? Who cuts open chips to make sure that the design… Fully complies to the engineering prints? Have vulnerabilities been introduced - capacitance to gate junctions added or removed to allow FETs to be driven into undefined modes of operation? Where do DoD contractors get their hardware?
Feinstein had some interesting people in her company. And many, many others.
By the way… The captain of DDG-78 is a hero. At least according to her crew. I tend to side with their assessment.
