Any Biblefags here tonight who can give advice? This query is not my area of expertise.

I am strongly inclined to buy and read a bible, which I haven't picked up since I was a kid. I have kids myself now, and I am anxious for their bible education.

I was thinking of buying the Douye-Rheims translation as I've read recommendations of it. However, others recommend the King James' Version instead.

I am confused.

Is the Douye-Rheims version less compromised or better than the King James' Version or vice versa?

If someone could kindly give me a short, honest opinion on which version you think is better or best, I'd be very grateful to you, Bibleanon(s).

Thank you in advance.

God bless.

Thanks for the warning!! That's exactly why I want to prepare the kids now.

Am still monitoring answers, all good advice, though I won't do any smart comments or other dig posting as per usual, in deference to the topic.

>>4375184 Thank you, I'll look into this edition too.

I will not clog the bread any more with future thank you's.
