Good luck when inmidst of a tornado the bricks are flying around, the house is totally destroyed and needs way more effort to be rebuilt, because some walls are still standing, many are instable and moldy because of rain and warm weather.

You can easily tear down the rest of a wooden house and beging fresh, you cannot do this as easily and as cheap ("cheap"…) with brick houses.

Normal brick houses do NOT withstand real tornadoes; google damages in Europe by rather weak tornadoes there.
