Yeah they suck. You have to take off the pistol grip to use the dumb thing. All it is is a device that uses the recoil to slide the weapon back and forth over a fixed "gate" at the trigger. It's a wide gate too, so you're not even using proper trigger squeeze. Total gimmick.

Never fired a 16 on full auto, just 3 round burst, but have fired autos, but yes, I'd say it is less effective because bumpstock has a wider housing over the trigger that you span with your entire finger, not just the tip (just the tip). The gimmick works by using the recoil to "bump" the gun back and forth with your entire finger spanning the trigger channel. Much less control throughout the whole thing. But a .556 doesn't have much recoil so it's relatively easy to keep it steady.
