Kurds. & Kurds.
used to be, when you graduated high school in Turkey, you then went to SE Turkey to fight the Kurds in the "civil" war. until Erdogan made a deal with the jailed PKK leader, who remained jailed. (never quite got that one.)
PKK, YPG, KDP, PYD and MOAR- it is hard to keep the Kurdish abc's straight.
Rudaw.net is worth bookmarking. the Kurds still view parts of Syria, Turkey, Iran, and Iraq (at least) as homeland. the Khyber Pass is the oldest smuggling route in the world, and the Kurds did the heavy lifting. always have. remember who actually freed the Yazidi at Sinjar?
dig a little, and find the publication that uses a map of Kurdistan in its banner. it includes all the countries just mentioned, and then some.

"Selahatiin Demirtas" will soon roll of your tongue as easily as Fetullah Gullen and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. and Jamal Khashoggi.
