Nah. He's wrong about the Fed being the owner of the US Gov's debt. They own some of it, but not even most.

He also doesn't understand that inflation also happened under the Gold Standard (which is why it had to be abandoned) and would happen again under a bimetallic system.

And disbanding the Fed would not cause gov debt to go poof. At least I hope they don't do anything like that. That would be massively inflationary. Dollars are magiced into existence with the expectation that they will be paid back and return to nothingness. The current value is based on that requirement. If the debt is suddenly forgiven then those dollars are free to be spent on whatever. Inflationary.

Nope. This guy doesn't understand.

If the Treasury took over the money printing, whether the new currency backed by gold or not, they would honor the old Fed dollar and allow conversion. To do anything else would be cataclysmic.

>Cataclysmic to the Fed Reserve, which is the goal.

To the whole damn global economy. An interest rate hike of a fraction of a percent is enough to hobble the stock market. Just imagine if everyone's money went up in smoke. Trump ain't gonna to anything like that.

There is not enough gold and silver above ground to back all the world's fiat money. I don't think that can ever happen.

What I expect to happen is for the gov to do something like require any Fed policy change to be approved by the Senate after open debate. The main problem with the Fed is that the bankers that control it can use their insider knowledge of future moves to unfair advantage.

>..getting out of Syria as some sort of favor to Russia.

It's the opposite. I read it as we're getting out of Syria, and abandoning the Kurds (who the Turks hate), to bring Turkey back into the NATO fold. Russia has been trying to drive a wedge between Turkey and the rest NATO because they're never liked that a NATO country controls the Bosporus Strait, which their Black Sea fleet needs to pass through if it to ever be useful. It's all about warm-water ports.

>I've seen studies ranging from $7000 to $15,000 USD per ounce of GOLD

>I think silver would have to be close to $1,000 USD/oz

Yeah. And there lies the problem. It would be a massive giveaway to all the gold-bugs out there. As much as some people would like, that's not gonna happen.
