Stocks used to be priced by the valuation on the company, its P/E ratio, and dividends. With the advent of "mass pension plans" money is pumped into the stock market because it has to go in regardless whether a legitimate price for a stock can be found. It is a rigged market. Only the traders are winning, and the govt who uses the inflated stock market numbers to claim the economy is strong. No the economy is not strong, investors are not flooding into the market, institutional pension plans are forced to park their money there.
