Problem is that many US Farmers are subject to things out of their control - losses/bad production etc not due to their incompetence. Regulations, taxes, and in CA… serious water source fuckery.
Lobbies are the real impediment to middle class growth.
This country needs to seriously encourage more local farm-to-table initiatives. Loosen fed, state, local regs so regular people can grow some of their own food. Bring it home. POWER TO THE PEOPLE. We should be able to be self-sustaining if we want… power, food, etc. without the government telling us we can't.
